NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Selma Blair is in final negotiations to play a lesbian high school teacher romantically involved with a student in the indie black comedy "Driving Lessons."
Madeline Zima, who plays David Duchovnys underage fling in Showtimes "Californication," has enrolled as Blairs love interest. It wont be Blairs first Sapphic screen excursion. She shared quality time with Sarah Michelle Gellar in "Cruel Intentions," winning an MTV Movie Award for best kiss.
"Driving Lessons" revolves around a woman (Hope Davis) given a second shot at her unhappy marriage after losing her memory. It conveniently helps her forget an interracial affair with her burly neighbor Simon (Chi McBride). Dermot Mulroney plays her husband, and Max Thieriot her religious, right-wing son.
The project, which marks the feature directing debut of Finnish commercials veteran Vivi Friedman, is set to begin principal photography next month in Los Angeles.
