LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Irish actor Ciaran Hinds, best known for portraying Julius Caesar in HBOs "Rome," will play a villain in "Race to Witch Mountain," a Disney action thriller starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

The project, a reimagining of the studios 1975 adventure movie "Escape to Witch Mountain," is set to start shooting later this month in Los Angeles. Andy Fickman will direct.

The adaptation revolves around a pair of paranormal-powered siblings (Alexander Ludwig, AnnaSophia Robb) who, with the help of a Las Vegas cab driver (Johnson), are on the run from a diabolical group of men who wish to exploit their abilities. Hinds will play the nefarious leader of the pack.

Hinds is in theaters with "There Will Be Blood," playing an associate of Daniel Day-Lewis character. He also stars in the Iraq war movie "Stop-Loss," which opens on March 28.
