NEW YORK - Another chapter has been added to the Lohan family saga -- and this time, it may be another Lohan.
Michael Lohan, father of actress Lindsay, said in a statement Friday that he's looking into a woman's claim that she had a daughter by him.
Lohan said he once had a relationship with a woman named Kristy, whose last name he did not provide, and that he hadn't seen her in 12 years. He said the two were seeing each other while he was separated from Dina Lohan, and the woman was going through a divorce.
"Years later she contacted me convincing me that I was the only person she was with and that she had my child," the statement said. "My lawyers will sort this out."
OK! magazine, for which Michael Lohan has written a blog, first reported the story. It said the girl is now 13.
Leslie Sloane-Zelnik, the publicist for Lindsay Lohan, didn't immediately return phone and e-mail messages from The Associated Press on Friday.
Michael Lohan has scheduled a press conference Friday night in Los Angeles to address the report.
Lohan, a former Wall Street broker, married Donata "Dina" Sullivan in 1985. They settled a long-simmering divorce last August, though they returned to court in Long Island earlier this month over custody issues.
Michael complained that Dina wasn't adhering to a visitation agreement involving their two youngest children, Ali, 14, and Cody, 12. The children live with their mother in the town of Merrick, and are featured on the E! reality show "Living Lohan," along with 20-year-old brother Michael.
Lindsay Lohan, who turns 22 July 2, is only name-checked on the series, which shows Dina Lohan managing Ali's fledging career as a singer.
Michael Lohan was released from prison in March 2007 after serving nearly two years for attempted assault and driving while intoxicated.
