Los Angeles (E! Online) - Christian Bales family ties are a little loose right now, but his marital relations appear to be holding fast.
Sources close to the Dark Knight star tell E! News that, contrary to new headlines suggesting that his eight-year marriage to Sandra Blazic is on the rocks, his and Sibis marriage is solid.
Marital troubles are just one of the reasons being bandied about to explain the seemingly random alleged showdown between Bale and his mother, Jenny, and sister Sharon at a London hotel that resulted in the actors arrest Tuesday when he turned himself in for questioning.
Britains Daily Mail has reported that Bale flew off the handle after his mom, among other things, made a disparaging remark about his wife.
But Sibi was by her mans side Wednesday on the red carpet in Barcelona at the Spain premiere of The Dark Night, where Bale deftly avoided questions about his family troubles but took about 30 minutes to sign autographs for superhero-hungry fans waiting outside the Coliseum Theater.
Warner Bros. announced today that, after five days of wide release, The Dark Knight has already surpassed $200 million at the box office, an all-time record.
Next on the itinerary for Bale, the missus and their 3-year-old daughter, Emmeline, is the blockbusters Tokyo bow on Monday, and then the actor is off to New Mexico to continue shooting Terminator: Salvation.
Its been reported that Bale had a hissy fit on the set last Friday after cinematographer Shane Hurlbut flubbed a shot, but the studio said this week that neither on-set nor off-set drama has affected the films production schedule.
As for the family situation, Bales attorney has already denied any wrongdoing on his clients part, noting that the 34-year-old Brit voluntarily went to the police station and that U.K. law requires that a suspect be placed under arrest before theyre interviewed by authorities.
He is due to return to the station for a follow-up inquiry in September, but he has not been charged with any offense.
