NEW YORK (Reuters) - General Electric Co Chief Executive Jeff Immelt will this week make his most definitive statement that he has no plans to sell the companys NBC Universal media unit, the New York Times reported on Tuesday.
"Should we sell NBCU? The answer is no!" Immelt will write in a message for investors in GEs 2007 annual report, to be released on Wednesday, according to the Times. "I just dont see it happening. Not before the Olympics, not after the Olympics. It doesnt make sense," the paper reported he will say.
In recent months there have been reports that GE will make a decision on whether to sell the unit after this summers Beijing Olympics in August, which will be televised on NBC.
