Daniel Craig shirtless on the beach eating chips - is it a commercial?

fp_1762442_trb_craig_daniel
Daniel Craig, his girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell and some friends were photographed relaxing on the beach in St. Barths yesterday. Several agencies have these photos and they're pretty clear and close up so I suspect the photo opportunity was set up ahead of time by the actor.

Craig was seen drinking a beer and eating a bag of Ruffles potato chips with his friends. In some shots they're smiling and looking at the camera as they eat the chips like they're in a commercial. It could just be some friends hanging out and hamming it up for the cameras, but the fact that Craig was carrying a bag of Lays around makes me suspicious. We don't get a lot of shirtless photos of Craig and these just seem too good to be true. I'll take them though, even if it is an ad for Frito-Lay, which just happens to put out both Ruffles and Lays, the brands that are clearly shown in these photos.

No Syko you are not alone. He does nothing for me. I highly doubt this is a publicity shot for Lays since he is far more well known in Britain and they don't sell Lays crisps there. If he was carrying a bag of Walkers I might think its a publicity shot but this one, nah, I think he's just bogarting the crisp bag.

He's not a physically attractive guy in the face, but damn, he's got a charisma to him that makes quite a few of us look at him in a different light. It's a rough, manly thing, and he's got a very cute smile. (I also happen to think he gets weirdly more attractive when he's roughed up and beaten up as Bond, but you know.) (Oh, and when he walked out of the water in the teeny shorts in Casino Royale.

I say it's not a planned photo-op. They look like they spotted the camera and are hamming it up and taking it with good humor.

His friends look hilarious. I particularly like the guy spread out, junk on full display for the camera and sunning while the others eat their chips, and the guy with one leg of his trunks rolled up.

I find Daniel Craig to look so much like my father so don't find him attractive :-) .

They do look to be having a wonderful time, despite the photographers.

Wow, that's a lot of photos I can understand his visible anger at having his privacy invaded.

Now I need to have an uncomfortable conversation with myself about why I look at photos like this. I mean, I can't help thinking I'm part of the problem

I still wouldnt put it past him. Theyre really trying to push him on the American market. Starbucks paid Ben Affleck to carry around their drinks and Jen Aniston got paid to carry around Smart Water.

What, you guys don't bring chips and beer to the beach? It's tasty, filling, enough to share, and a simple snack, especially when you're at the beach hungry. It's probably not a commercial, but I do kinda want some now.

He's probably a nice guy but he does nothing for me, either, just not my cup 'o tea.

I don't think these look posed - the photographer could be half a mile away, which would explain the grainy close ups.

the new product placement ads: companies sending stars and their buddies on vacation if they'll hold the advertised product so that the paps will see it and photograph it. i remember being shocked when first hearing about coke and stuff being placed in movies as silent advertising, but this is just a natural extention of that. britney was probably the first with her bag of cheetos- we just didn't realize it.

Why so many pictures? If you're going to post this many, then post that many for all the celebrities. Cheesh, not too biased are we?
