Jennifer Aniston on The View, 12/24/08, Part 1. GQ questions are about 2 minutes in.
Jennifer Aniston on The View, 12/24/08, Part 2
Jennifer Aniston was on The View on Tuesday. She started off by telling a cute story about how one of the dogs playing Marley in her new film ate a cake they had out as a prop. Then Barbara Walters starting grilling her about the GQ cover in that sickly sweet kind of disturbing way she has. Walters is like the great aunt you avoid all year until the holidays when you're forced into uncomfortable personal questions and stories about childhood you'd long repressed, her ancient perfume giving you a headache.
Aniston said that her GQ cover was Photoshopped and admitted that she was drunk during the photoshoot when Joy asked her about it. "They got me bombed," she deadpanned.
Walters: It is Jennifer Aniston as you have not seen her before. What happened to the girl next door from "Friends"?
Aniston: Where Photoshopped - she's there.
Walters: Are you trying to project a somewhat different image?
Aniston: [referring to GQ] Let's put this [magazine] down. This had a whole concept. There was going to be different stages of undress me in a gown, and then men in a tuxedo and all of a sudden I would be wearing the man's shirt. In the next shot he'd have no shirt and then, they were supposed to get naked. I don't know what happened.
Behar: Were you drinking or smoking?
Aniston: They got me bombed. It was a Danny Devito moment.

Elisabeth said that a lot of women might be jealous of Aniston because she's got a great body, but that's not the case since she's so down to earth and "people really pull for [Aniston]."
Sherri recalled one of her first television jobs was a guest role as a tour guide on Friends. She said that Aniston was friendly to her back then. She went right up to Shepherd and said "Hi I'm Jennifer Aniston. It's nice to meet you. Do you need anything?"
Joy Behar asked Aniston why she once said she was an overthinker, and she kind of vacillated on the answer, saying that sometimes she thinks too much and other times she's spontaneous. From her explanation later on it sounded like she thinks about her answers after the fact.
The overdone "what do you think about turning 40?" question was brought up by ever-astute Elisabeth. Aniston joked that she didn't have a choice about getting older and quipped "I am proud of almost turning 40."
Overall Aniston was in her element on the panel and you could tell she was comfortable and having fun despite the probing questions.
Marley & Me opened in the US yesterday, on Christmas. It's getting mixed reviews, with some people saying the end is manipulative and others calling it touching.

I hate how she always find a way to blame someone else for her actions. It's never her fault!!!! The Uncool comment: vogue's fault. The naked cover: GQ's fault. Her divorce: Angelina's fault. Her horrible move Rumor has it: the director's bad editing's fault (Vogue interview source). The fact that her private life is so public: the media's fault
She does things and then when it goes wrong, she never stoods up for the things she has done Except for when things go perfect: then, she is the one who takes credit for it. Success of Along came Polly: her credit. Success of The Break Up: her credit. Success of Bruce Almighty: her credit. She took credit for those movies, refusing to see that, she had costar (Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, Jim Carrey) and refusing to admite that she can't support her movie by herself
It's a very childish attitude

I'm not a huge fan, but I really don't think she was "blaming" anyone else for the GQ cover. I think she was just joking around about how it ended up being something she didn't expect. And the fact that she had a couple of drinks beforehand well, I don't blame her. I'd need more than a couple to get naked for a magazine cover!
Having said all of that, I still think it was a stupid idea. It's all anyone is talking about. As usual, nobody's focusing on her films or career at all. Great publicity, yes, but it still keeps people focused on Jennifer Aniston the Personality and not Jennifer Aniston the Actress. I know I've said it before, but she (and Owen Wilson) did that interview recently where she said she wished people would shut up about her personal life and talk about her movies instead. So what does this particular photo spread do to support that?

Don't forget Lilou, Marley is the star of her new movie and he is the reason so many ppl will go see that movie, yet she will take credit like it was because of her when any female actress could've played her part. I have to hand it to Jen, she knows the only way her movies will be a hit, is if she's a supporting actress to a more famous or loveable star, like Jim Carrey, Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, and now Owen Wilson and A lovable dog. she should stick to that and never, ever try to be the lead actress again. "Rumour Has It" and "Derailed" were soooooo baaaaaad!!!
